Searches for greener eco-friendly homes rise

Home hunters who are concerned about rising energy bills are increasingly searching for eco-friendly homes says new research from Legal & General Mortgage Club.

The data, drawn from the types of mortgages that brokers are searching for, uncovers a 34% uptick in interest for eco-friendly loans that consider a property’s energy performance certificate rating.

This shift to making greener choices is excellent news for the housebuilding industry which has all the facts and figures on hand to prove the energy efficiency of new homes and can raise awareness of the long-term benefits of eco-friendly living.
